Individual Assistance

FEMA may provide Individual Assistance after the president declares a Major Disaster.

When the President approves a Federal Disaster for the State of New Hampshire, the declaration may include Individual Assistance. FEMA offers Individual Assistance Programs, including Individuals and Households Program, Crisis Counseling, Disaster Case Management and Disaster Legal Services.

FEMA's Individuals and Households Program provides housing and disaster-related cost assistance to uninsured or under-insured people. You can apply for Individual Assistance Programs online or in person at a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center.

For information about requirements to receive assistance, visit FEMA's eligibility criteria webpage. For policy statements, download the Individual Assistance Program and Policy Guide (IAPPG).
